(the Philippine Flag) |
At first we battled against the cruelty of Ferdinand Magellan and his conquest to siege and let our country depends on Spain, in which one of the powerful Europian nation back in the day of our forefathers. Our noble heroes who once shed blood and gave their lives to saved us from the grueling Spanish reigned. Their memories reminds us, the fight, the hope and the dream to free us from the abusive colonial rule of Spain.
(The proclamation of Philippine Independence in Kawit Cavite on June 12, 1898) |
The importance of Independence day to Filipinos is a like the sun that gives us life and nourished us. Our forefathers had suffered mutilation, gruesome death punishments, the women had been raped and maltreated. As a survivor on that war and colonial rule, our noble heroes was seeking for a huge blast, a revenge that would unleashed and would put the abusive ruling of Spain to an end, Doctor Jose Rizal is one of the most memorable heroes we have, his hope to free us all from cruelty and his love for our country cannot be bartered by any precious gems in whole world. So to speak to our other noble heroes as well.
Their fight- is our fight! Their revenge is our victory! But to honor their undying effort and love for our country has been fading. We tend not to stop when the Philippine national anthem is being played and sung. Most of us, has never remember the sacrifices they had given to free us all, to achieved victory over Spain. And to take a bite of what we have today- the freedom to speak, freedom to love, freedom to do things without anything to fear of. We owe them our victorious freedom today.
" Ang hindi mag mahal sa sariling bayan, ay mas mabaho pa sa malansang isda."
The powerful slogan we have, had lost its power- on empowering us and putting the love and to honor our heroes from the freedom we are having right now due to their sacrifices. The spirit of being a Filipino has fade. We embarked beyond, and we forgot to look back on how hard on their part to die, but because of their love for our nation- we are free from slavery today.
