Whitney Houston died this afternoon ... a rep for the singer told the Associated Press.

Our sources tell us a member of Whitney's entourage found her in her room at the Beverly Hilton hotel ... and called hotel security -- who then dialed 911. When paramedics arrived Houston was found unresponsive. 

We're told police arrived to the scene within minutes and fire was already there on an unrelated call. According to our sources, paramedics performed CPR but it did not work and she was pronounced dead at 3:55 PM. 

Our sources say there were no obvious signs of foul play, but BH PD detectives have begun a full investigation. We're told she was ID'ed by family and friends.

The singer famously battled drug addiction for years.

Houston was seen out in Hollywood Thursday night for a Grammy party ... and she did not look well (below). She even briefly took the mic and performed a song while she was there -- what would become her last performance.


Houston won two Emmy Awards, six Grammy Awards, 30 Billboard Music Awards, 22 American Music Awards during her record-breaking career. Her album "Whitney" was the first female album to ever debut at #1 on the Billboard Charts. She has sold 200 million albums worldwide.

Whoa, do you think that only those kids who undergone Voice lessons can sing pretty well?  I bet not! You heard it right- Arginal Gilbert from Mabalacat Pampangga is singing like a pro. His RnB singing prowess was honed in the street, the ability to adopt what's in it. He has that of  Neyo/Justine Beiber voices combined.

This is the only word I can say, Filipinos are drooling over this talent search the dominates the whole wide world, with different version and style but with thesame goal- to find the best and the most unique talent in town. Season 2 had just finished, yet ABS- CBN never left us hanging to munch for more, more amazing performers, amazing talents and another life changing stories that soon will open its way for us to see.

Geo Ed Ribucas is a 20 year old nursing graduate from Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur a stand up comedian hailed from the province. With his amazing voice, for sure he will make other contestant a run for their money. Singing just like Mariah Carey- close your eyes and you would think Mariah is in front of you!

Chasters just can't deny the excitement when they heard Charice singing. An international singing sensation, who was hailed in the Philippines made us proud once more winning the J-Wave Mcdonald’s Tokio Hot 100 award for "Best New Artist".Charice was  nominated on the category of  Best new Artist. She edged the likes of Justin Beiber. I know J-Beiber just made a mistake on not appearing on Glee. It's just sad that Charice wasn't on the official list of Grammy Awards 2011 as rumors says she is nominated in the Category of best new female artist. Looking back on her performance last year, she is worthy of the picking.
