World AIDS Day 2011

December 1 2011, marks another milestone of beating the epidemic that is brought to us by HIV/AIDS. The whole world was celebrating it with a theme : “Getting to Zero.” Zero New HIV Infections.
Zero Discrimination and Zero AIDS Related Deaths."


In Davao City which is now the 3rd of the most numbers of people who were infected of HIV/AIDS in the Philippines has organized a run for  a cause THE RUN FOR LIFE, this is for the benefit of people living with HIV/AIDS, co-founded by City Health office of Davao City, ALAGAD Mindanao, MAAA to make this event successful on December 4, 2011.

The proceeds on the said fun-run will be going to the health and welfare of the people living with HIV/AIDS. in Davao City alone, 187 people who were diagnosed of HIV. With this years' theme, the City Health of Davao is aiming to maintain of even reduced the numbers of people who might be at risk of this epidemic.

Through Peer Education, Public and Private workshops conducted on the whole city. Davao city aimed to empowered young adults, to be aware of protecting themselves through :



  • Abstain from having sex if not ready
  • Be faithful. Be monogamous
  • Correct and consistent use of condoms
  • Do not use illegal drugs
  • Education
The City Health of Davao is giving free condoms and lubricants, as well as free consultation and anti-body testing  ( HIV/AIDS). 

Getting to Zero is an aim of our country. Beating the epidemic fatally. Live longer to find your Perfect One.
